Group Therapy

 Descent Support Groups
On-going groups for people who have achieved the careers, relationships, and social states culture tells us should be enough, but which feel inwardly dissatisfying.  Group exercises are designed and processes emerge that facilitate the transition from an "external" focus of control to an "internal" one of trusting and living by one's inner knowledge.

Working with the Judgmental Mind
Based upon the work developed and taught by Donald Rothberg, PhD in his annual retreats and workshops, on-going follow up groups meet bi-weekly in Robin's office to explore the nature of the judgmental mind as involved with reactive and automatic responses that can distort perceptions, make relationships with others difficult, and undermine work in the world. Prerequisite:  Attending a Transforming the Judgmental Mind retreat or the Working with Judgments daylong workshop led by Donald Rothberg (with Robin Gayle). Both the retreat and the workshop are offered through Spirit Rock Meditation Center (spiritrock.org).

Mindfulness Groups
Monthly groups begin and end with silent or guided mindfulness meditation.  In between are varieties of psychotherapy exercises and processes designed to address and heal issues that arise during the meditations.

Group sessions are 90 minutes. Group size is generally 7 participants. Average cost per session is $70.
(cash, check, credit cards, and most forms of electronic payment accepted)
